Parish registers are usually comprised of baptismal, marriage, and burial records. The baptismal records presented here generally list the date of the baptism, the name of the child being baptized, and the names of the parents. Sometimes the occupation of the father will also be given. The gender of the child is indicated by the use of the words "son" or "daughter." Parish records can be wonderful sources of genealogical information. They become increasingly valuable when civil vital records are either inaccessible or nonexistent.
