About Peerage of the United Kingdom and Ireland, Volumes I-IV
This database contains a listing of the peerage (those with the titles of duke, marquis, earl, viscount, or baron) of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Each entry contains a short account of the peer including (if these items are known) the date and place of birth, baptism, marriage, death and burial. This information is provided not only for the peers, but also for their wives. The names of each peers' parents are also given as well as the line of succession to the title. Entries are arranged alphabetically by place name. For example, "James Hamilton, Earl of Abercorn" is found under Abercorn, not Hamilton. These first three volumes contain the peerage of places named A-D. More volumes will be added the database in the coming months.
