About Ireland, General Map of Ireland (Quarter-Inch), 1855
General collection information
This collection contains images of a topographic map of Ireland from 1855. The original map was created by the Irish Railway Commission to assess lines of communication in order to plan efficient railway lines. The map is based on an a publication by Hodges and Smith, Dublin and Longman & Co., London in 1838 but this version was revised in 1855.
