Ancestry Participation Agreement for User Generated Content

At Ancestry, we appreciate how engaged our Social Media community is and love hearing about the discoveries you’ve made during your family history research.

Occasionally, we like to highlight specific member testimonials, stories, photographs, tips and quotes if we think they will encourage and support the wider community. Below are some examples of how these user submissions are used in our social channels.

 

We would love to use your submission in this way. We appreciate your story or photo is personal and precious to you which is why we share the below terms with all users whose submissions we’d like to highlight and use across our various Ancestry platforms.

If you agree with these terms, please let us know by responding to the comment we have sent you on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

• I understand that by acknowledging and responding to AncestryAUS on Facebook that I am providing my consent to Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company, its group companies, employees and agents (‘Ancestry’) to use, display, reproduce and modify the testimonial, story, photograph, tip or quote I have posted (‘Material’) and/or provided for its PR activity and/or campaigns.
• I can confirm that I am at least 18 years of age and that I am either the owner of the Material, or have the necessary permissions to authorise the use of the Material
• I acknowledge that Ancestry will capture and document any consent I have provided on the AncestryAUS Facebook page as proof of my consent and its right to use the Material
• I am aware that I am able to contact AncestryAUS on Facebook or via Member Services at any time to express any personal concern regarding the use of my submission
