The Ancestry Digitisation Grant Program for 2024 is now open for submissions.

It’s that time again! The Ancestry Grant Program is open for submissions.

The program aims to encourage and enable holders of historical content collections that are in original format (of any size) to digitise the material in their care.

Five digitisation grants will be awarded within AU and NZ (combined) each year. Once the grant recipients have been selected, scanning will begin as soon as is practical.

Projects to date have included occupational records, land records, military records, newspaper collections, and various registers. Some of these collections have been large, and others very small. In either case, I recommend contacting me via the email below to discuss the collection further.

Your feedback and engagement with this program will ensure its suitability and sustainability going forward. There’s a near-endless volume of historical content that could benefit from being preserved digitally, and some of that will be sitting with you or within locations you know of – so please use this program and share your feedback with me.

You are also welcome to send this notification to other archives or locations that may find it useful. The current deadline is August 31st, 2024, shortly after which the grants will be awarded.

Below is some further information about the Grant Program. To apply, please contact Jason Reeve for the necessary application documents (jreeve@ancestry.com.au).
