Russian Minister from S.F. Slain
Los Angeles, Oct. 9 –Twice shot through the neck, the body of William Fetesoff, Russian minister of San Francisco, which was found beneath a wrecked automobile by two youths yesterday, provided the sheriff’s office with a new murder mystery today.
The car had plunged over the roadside into the Topanga canyon, scene of more than one crime famous in the region. Fetesoff, who was identified by papers in his pockets, was found to be going under the name of William S. Martin here.
The car had been rented from an agency. One theory of the police is that Fetesoff was shot by a companion in the car, who leaped to safety as it rolled over the embankment. Another theory is that the young man was the victim of robbers.

Woman Traced in Death Probe of S.F. Russian
Los Angeles, Oct. 11 – A bullet hole through a fence post and a mysterious message written on a fence rail with a woman’s lipstick today led the authorities to launch a new investigation of the circumstances surrounding the death of William Fetesoff of San Francisco, whose body was discovered at the foot of a 200-foot cliff in Topanga canyon.
The message on the fence read: “William Fetesoff was murdered here.”
Fetesoff was found dead in the wreckage of his automobile. After the first investigation it was decided he was the victim of an accident.

‘Murder’ of S.F. Man Disproven
Los Angeles, Oct. 10 – William Fetesoff, formerly of San Francisco, whose body was found yesterday in Topanga canyon, near here, came to his death in a fall over a precipice, Los Angeles county investigators have reported. Fetesoff, who was known her as William S. Martin, had been missing since October 3. When the body was first examined it was announced that there were bullet wounds in the head, but Dr. A.F. Wagner, county autopsy surgeon, said last night the wounds were caused by branches of trees the man struck when he fell. Fetesoff is believed to have come here from San Francisco.

Death of Russian Held Accidental
Los Angeles, Oct. 10 – Investigation of the death of William Fetesoff, 22, former Russian minister of San Francisco, whose body was found under an overturned automobile in Topanga canyon, was discontinued today as the result of the decision of County Autopsy Surgeon A.F. Wagner that the San Francisco man met death in the plunge of his automobile from the top of a grade to the floor of the canyon. The “bullet holes” found in his head were declared caused by the braces of the windshield of his machine or by sharp rocks.
