Johnson's are found in 5 cems in The Black Warrior Forest.
Inter married with with Riddle and Parker and Garrison.
from 1810 or so on. The Johnson Cem is now part of the Sipsey River Park, you have to pay to see your grand fathers grave, not to happy with that. Nathan Johnson may be buried there. That is so much fun, having your relatives grave site as part of a park. Check the census on Winston and Lawrence Counties and Franklin County too. Next July 4 we have another Riddle reunion in Haleyville at the Pebble Comunity Center in Alabama. Stay at the Imperial Inn. Come and see the grave sites and meet about 150 relatives. My ggg Grand father Jonson Riddle (Rake) married Martha Johnson. I don't have much on Martha Johnson but she may be a sister or daughter of Nathan. They moved to the forest in Alabama about 1817. The family came from North Carolina. Keep in touch Victor...

We have since found Nathan Johnston listed in the 1850 census as Nashon Johnson with wife Nancy, his age is 60. We have also found evidence of a Nathan Johnston in Madison Co., AL. He purchased supplies at a store. I have not seen the Madison 1830 and 1840 census. A cousin said that there is a Nathan Johnston listed as living in Madison same age with wife and child. We know at one time there were Johnston relatives in the Madison Co., area.
Thanks for the update.

The info you have been given about Johnson Rake Riddle being a descendant of Moses and Mary Riddle and William The Tory Riddle and Happy Rogers is false. William " The Tory" was hung in Wilksboro, NC buy Benjamin Cleveland 1781.Willaim was Indian

This is info below is on William and Happy Riddles Children from Jack Goins. The 8th ggrandson of William

The two oldest James and John was bound out in Montgomery County Court, but Happy married William Ingraham and they came to Lee County, Virginia and then to Hawkins, John Married Moses Johnson daughter Mary according to tax records they may have come with them.
Ten children were born to William 1745-1781 and Happy Rogers 1750-1795 Riddle according to this research, The oldest believed to be Moses was hung with William, but only seven have been identified. Six of these children were believed born in Montgomery County, Va., Thomas, the last child may have been born on Riddle Knob in Wilkes County, NC. This area today is in Watauga County, about eight miles north of Boone. (1) James Riddle b. 1773 in Montgomery County, Virginia, married circa 1795 to Sarah Davis of Lee County, Virginia. (2)John Riddle b. 10 Feb 1775 In Montgomery County, Virginia, died 1833 in Pulaski County, Mo. married circa 1797 in Tennessee, to Sarah Johnson b. 1 March 1775. She was the daughter of Moses Johnson b. 16 June 1745, d 12 Nov 1812, and Sary Powell b. 25 Dec 1754, d. 2 Oct 1815. The Johnsons were charter members of the old Blackwater Baptist Church, established on the Clinch River near Kyles Ford, Tn., in 1801. This information from the Wallen Bible list seven children of John and Sarah Johnson Riddle they are: Elizabeth Riddle, James Riddle, Johnson Riddle, Thomas Riddle, Atha Riddle, and Emanuel. Isaac son of John furnished Riddle family genealogy to G.T. Ridlon.13(3)Happy Riddle born 1776, died 1878 in Hancock County, Tn. married Henry Fisher. Their children are listed above. (4)Isaac William Riddle b. April 1777 d. 30 Nov 1861, married Anna Grizzle 21 May 1801 in Russell County, Virginia, Jack

There is someone by the name of VICTOR TAYLOR that is posting that William was hung in SC and that his son Joseph was also hug. THIS IS ALL FALSE. William was hung in Wilkes NC.Children hung with him are unk.

This message is from Jack Goins. William " The Tory" Riddle's CONFIRMED 8th greatgrandson. He is a well known Ridlle researcher. You need to correct your file. Joseph Riddle was not hung. His descendants are quite alive and kicking!!!!!!!! William was hung in Wilkes NC by Benjamin Cleveland 1781. Not in SC as you state. There is a lot of info on the web if you would like to research the subject!!!!!!!!!

Joseph Riddle a twin to Isaac was b April 1777, d 4 Sept 1856, married circa 1800 to Rhoda Monk b. 1784 in Russell County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Shadrack and Polly Roberts Monk. Shadrack Monk purchased land on the north side of Clinch River on Big Ridge 31 December 1808 from William Cope and the heirs of George Hurd. This land joined the lands of James Hurd, Henry Fisher, and Zachariah Minor on Big Ridge and Clinch River. 15 Some of the children of Joseph and Rhoda Monk are:#1- Isaac R. Riddle 1802 married Catherine Fisher? or Catherine Johnson?, both names were given by descendants. #2- Mary Polly Riddle 1804 mar. Joseph Spears. #3-Louise M. Riddle 1805. #4-Nathan R. Riddle 1810-1885 mar. Mary Pierce. #5-John S. Riddle 1811. #6-James Madison Riddle 1812-1863 mar. Sarah Pruitt #7- Harriet"Happy" Riddle 1814-1870's married Jacob Brake #8-Joseph F. Riddle 1819-1865 married. Nancy Hughes. #9-Rhoda Riddle 1819-1907 (twin of Joseph,) married. Richard Austin #10- Shadrack Monk Riddle 1826 #11- Ruth S. Riddle 1827 #12-Elizabeth A. Riddle 1828 (twin of Henry)mar. John Monk #13- Henry R. Riddle 1828, mar. Nancy Rush. #14-Abijah Cross Riddle 1829-1909 mar. Sarah Jones. In 1994 I met a Riddle descendant Lourene Vaden in Stamps Library Rogersville,Tn.when she was in town to give said library a copy of her book "Unraveling Riddles" Lourene descends from Joseph and Rhoda Monk Riddle. I am a descendant of John and Sarah (Johnson) Riddle.

I have it that John is the son of William Thomas "Tory" Riddle and Harriet "Happy" Rogers/Roberts Riddle.

Many believe that John's grandfather, who would be William's dad, was Moses Riddle, but this has not been proven. A William Riddle appears next to a Moses Riddle on the 1767 Pittsylvania County, VA tax list where Moses is listed as being Indian. Moses is thought to be the same Moses listed in a 1755 Granville County, NC tax list with his wife Mary. Both of them are listed as mulattos, which most likely meant they were part Indian and part white.
