Cathy,
I would love to hear more information on the origin of frambes and the coat of arms. I have been in contact with Chas Mitchell who turns out to be a distant cousin of mine through Mary Applegate Frambes and Charles T. Chance.

My dad and I are going back and forth arguing about the origins of Frambes. I've heard everything from the French meaning Raspberry to a Belgian name to most recently a name originating in the Netherlands.

I recently married an American of almost pure Norwegian descent. This would be too amazing if I were part Norwegian too. Thanks so much in advance!

Cass,
I will get back to you as soon as I can. I can send you the info by ground mail for it is too much too write on here.
The "FRAM" means farm in Norwegian so it is of Norwegian decent.
It is not french for raspberry either that is framboises.
Well hope to hear from you soon.
Cathy
