My great grandmother was Rachel Aureyansen. I've
seen the name spelled both as Auryansen and as
Aureyansen but I don't know if there two distinct
families or just variations in spelling. Rachel
lived in Piermont NY and possibly in northern New
Jersey, probably Bergen county. She married Anson
Rice Peterson. Unfortunately, I have nothing on
her ancestry.
Do you see both spelling variations in your ancestry?
If so, can you help me trace Rachel's ancestry?
All assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks Ron Borichevsky

Hi, I am researcing ancestry of Annie A. Auryansen b. 1869 and her sister Clara C. Auryansen b. 1872 of Bergen Co, NJ. Annie m. Robert Lapham and Clara m. his brother George Lapham. In the 1900 Census, their mother Amelia C. Auryansen b. 1852, a widow was living with George and Clara C. Lapham. Who was Amelia's husband? Would love to have any information on them. Thanks. Virginia

Hi Ron! I just found your post, and I've got goosebumps!! Anson and RAchel are my g-g-grandparents!! I've seen the name spelled Auryanson, Auryanse, Ariaase. About 10 years ago I was at LDS and punched in Rachel's name, and the line went back to like 1017. Lots of Cole (Kool), Romeyn, and Demarest. The earliest variation of Demarest was a Baron of Bousis. There were some killed in the crusades. I see it's been 5 years since you posted, but let me know if there's anything I can help with. Ann Marie

Auryansen is indexed as Curyansen in the 1880 census in Hudson County, NJ. There you will find John H(?), Amelia C., Anna, Clara P. and Jessie O. I have information from Jessie on.

I am looking for information from this John Auryansen and back. It appears that his father was Abraham, but would like someone to confirm.

Thanks. Susan.
