Surnames: Jamar, Harvey, Dyson, Gwin
My grandmother was also a Jamar. I believe most of Jamar's in this country are descended from one Henri or Henrie Jamar. I have been researching the Jamar surname for several years. Six generations starting with Henri have been posted at RootsWeb World connect at the link below:

If you look under Henri Jamar there are several stories there I have run across from other researchers. Another lady with a different posting there has Henry from Normandy, France. From LDS It is known that many Jamars are in Belguim. It is thought that the Jamar's were French Huguenots. Some were supposedly in a London refugee camp in the 1700's. Some supposedly went to Belguim from there and Henri to the colonies. If you search LDS for Jamar you will find some in London in the 1700's also a lot in Belguim (and I believe Spain) in later years. I have found no solid evidence for any of the stories though.
