Charles Clement Bostwick is the first husband of my 2nd great aunt. As far as I can tell they seem to have had 8 children. However, half of them were born in New York and the other half in Georgia. This puzzles me because I can find no reference to Charles or Mary Ann ever having been in Georgia. Charles died in the wreck of the steamboat Lexington in 1855 and his children became wards of William W. Huffman of Phelps, Ontario, N.Y. Mary Ann remarried with Louis de Valois Wilder (1817-1911) in 1856. One of their children was the famous entertainer, Marshall Pinckney Wilder. Can anyone shed additional light on this story?
