Easthampton, Long Island, new York

Added to Thomas Squire by Trok14 on 19 Oct 2008
This is not a proper location. "Long Island" is not a governmental unit, it's a topographical feature. Why is that important? Because you won't find any records for "Long Island" They will be by town, or by county, or even state. Not by "Island." Typically, there are no citations for these "facts" or any indication where the information came from. It would be a great benefit to the public of ancestry.com would use its great voice to educate about this vital part of genealogical research.
